Channel letters:

This very popular type of illuminated signage can be built with a wide range of variation. The aluminum letters or shapes are formed with CNC machines and finished by hand, and then translucent faces with colour graphics are added. The result is clean, defined illuminated signage. Channel Letter variations include: Illuminated, non-illuminated, flush mounted, or installed on a raceway, face lit or halo lit or both face and halo lit.

Fascia signs:

Sign cabinets are a more affordable option for displaying backlit sign graphics. Cabinets can be single or double-sided. They are generally square or rectangular in shape. Lighting for fascia signs is most often provided by LED modules; however neon is still a popular choice for retro style signs. Illuminated sign faces have translucent vinyl graphics or custom digital prints applied to polycarbonate plastic faces. Fascia signs can also be non-illuminated or dimensional and made from a range of materials. Pinned aluminum letters are very common for retail or business signage, these letters standoff from the fascia, creating dimension to the letters. Projecting signs are less common these days, but are still an effective way of achieving sign visibility and character.

Pylon signs:

Pylons are free standing and generally tall to feature multiple tenants. A pylon can be designed and constructed within a limitless range of architectural or visual features. A well-designed pylon can complement surrounding buildings, provide effective tenant signage and create an iconic landmark presence and strong branding for a retail property.

Monument signs:

As the name suggests these signs are like a monument with a lower height and often constructed of concrete or rock with metal letters, however, there can be a wide range to the materials and design methods used. They are commonly used as corporate business entrance signs or housing community entrance signs.

Wayfinding signs:

Wayfinding signage directs people to where they need to go. Systems of multiple wayfinding signs are usually found at larger venues, airports, hospitals, arenas, office buildings and residential buildings. Effective wayfinding signage will provide easy navigation and a cohesive visual package that supports your branding.

Neon signs:

Neon signs have been popular for almost 100 years and despite the development of LED technology, neon is still often used in the signage industry. Our customers often want retro style signs made of neon. Outreach has been a neon specialist manufacturer for over 35 years and is one of only a few Western Canada companies with full neon production capabilities and regular orders of neon sign products.

LED signs:

LED is newer and an emerging technology in Canada. Most new channel letters or cabinet signs are lighted with LED modules. There are other new LED products which offer an update on older designs. For example, flex LED is a product which looks somewhat like neon. It doesn’t entirely recreate the distinctive glow of neon; however, it has its own visual appeal and offers excellent durability and low power consumption, making it a preferred choice for outdoor signs. LED is also being used as the light source in moulded acrylic letters or shapes. This new type of product has a modern look and is offered in a wide range of styles and sizes.
